Q&A
- 1. How do your stack type flexo press drive the cylinder rollers in these printing units?
Our machine printing unit include plate cylinder, impression cylinder, fountain cylinder, anilox cylinder, ink tray, flexible plate and doctor blade. We have two types driving system for these cylinder in printing units, timing belts driving and gear motors driving.(click to know more details)
- 2. How to transfer ink from the ink fountain to the printing substrate?
The fountain cylinder pick up ink and pass ink to the anilox cylinder. The the doctor blade removes the excess ink from the smooth non-engraved portions of the anilox roll and the land areas of the cell walls. Anilox cylinder even spread ink in the surface of the flexible plate. Impression cylinder and plate cylinder press substrate and transfer ink to substrate material surface.
- 3. How does your flexo printing press machine improve color registration accuracy?
Color registration system is one of the most factors in the flexo printing machine. We adopt different method to adjust color registration. The best one is full automatic color registration system which can be run in the control panel. You also can choose other method according your products. If your printing pattern is simple, you also can use manual adjustment. (click to know more about color registration)
- 4. Which type doctor blade install in your stacking type flexographic printing machine?
Our stack type and central drum impression flexo printing machine adopt chamber type doctor blade. Chamber doctor blade system have many advantages, including improved printing quality, reduce ink waste and lower cleaning costs.
- 5. How to choose a set correct ceramic anilox rollers for our products?
Our flexo printing machine adopt ceramic anilox roller as ink transfer roller. You can send your printing pattern AI format file. Our engineers will provide a solution to you according your patter colors and saturation requirements. Because LPI(line per inch) and BCM very impressed printing quality.
- 6. How is the tension of the unwinding and rewinding unit controlled?
Our flexo printing machine adopt magnetic brakes or motors to control unwinder and rewinder tension. Magnetic brake can well control paper rolls and non woven fabric materials tension. If you need print flexible packaging film, we suggest motor control tension. Because motor output tension is more sensitive which is better for pressure sensitive material (such as opp, bopp, pvc film, lamination, self adhesive paper rolls).
- 7. Can I add static image inspection system to my flexo printing machine?
Of course you can. The static image inspection system uses a high-resolution camera to capture the printing image in real time, checking whether the "+" pattern printed by each color printing plate roller on the printing material overlaps to ensure color registration accuracy. The operator checks the screen to see whether the "+" pattern of each color on the printing material overlaps. The static image inspection system also provides real-time feedback and alarms. If there is no overlap, the automatic color registration system can be used to adjust, or the plate roller position can be adjusted manually.
- 8. How do I change the plate roller? How long will it take me?
First, you should stop the flexo printing machine to clean up the ink, paper scraps and other debris around the plate roller.
Then, use a wrench to loosen the fixing bolts at both ends of the plate roller, gently tap to separate the old plate roller from the printing roller, and use a lifting device to move the old plate roller out.
Next, put the new plate roller accurately into the installation position and tighten the bolts.
Finally, adjust the pressure between the new plate roller and the printing roller, and start the machine for the first printing. During the process, check whether the plate roller runs smoothly, whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration, and the printing effect.
Usually, it takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to replace the plate roller. If the plate roller is large or the installation position is complicated, it may take 2 hours or more.
- 9. How can I prevent the anilox roller cells from clogging when my flexo printing machine stops running?
The anilox roller can be cleaned in time by hot alkali solution or ultrasonic cleaning, or by using a pre-inking motor. The pre-inking motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive the anilox roller to rotate slowly, keep the ink circulating in the anilox roller cells, prevent deposition and drying, and help dissolve and disperse some of the dried ink.
- 10. When I need to print on both sides, do I need to add special structure to this machine?
If you choose to print alternately, you need to equip a turn bar. It can be installed between two adjacent printing units, uses rollers and air pumps to flip the material for printing the back side after the front side.
If you choose to print synchronously (printing on both sides at the same time), two independent printing units are required to process the front and back sides respectively.
The specific configuration of the 4-color flexo printing machine is as follows:
1 color group prints the front side, 3 color groups print the back side: suitable for the situation where the front side printing content is less and the back side printing content is more.
2 color groups print the front side, 2 color groups print the back side: suitable for the situation where the front and back printing content is relatively balanced.
The specific configuration of the 6-color flexo printing machine is as follows:
3 color groups print the front side, 3 color groups print the back side: suitable for the situation where the front and back printing content is relatively balanced and more.
2 color groups print the front side, 4 color groups print the back side: suitable for the situation where the front printing content is less and the back printing content is more.
4 color groups print the front side, 2 color groups print the back side: suitable for the situation where the front printing content is more and the back printing content is less.
- 11. What drying systems can be equip for this model of machine? How do I choose the drying system?
This model machine can be equip with hot air, UV, IR, LED drying system. Different printing materials and inks require different drying systems.
Solvent-based inks are usually dried with hot air drying system or hot air + infrared drying system. Hot air evaporates the solvent and infrared heats the surface. UV inks are usually cured with UV drying system without heating. Water-based inks contain more water and need to be dried with hot air drying system.
Paper materials are generally dried with hot air drying system or hot air + infrared drying system to ensure uniform heating and avoid deformation. Film materials are easy to deform and are often dried with low-temperature hot air drying system. Special materials such as metal foils are often dried with hot air drying system or infrared drying system to prevent damage.
